Clearwater Marine Aquarium
A marine rescue centre famous worldwide as the home of Winter the dolphin from the Dolphin Tale movies. Interactive exhibits, sea turtle rehabilitation, and up-close encounters with rescued marine animals make this a memorable experience for all ages. Located just a mile from CBS on Island Estates.
Captain Bligh's Mini Golf
A pirate-themed mini-golf course with fun obstacles and challenges. A delightful family activity just south of the main beach strip. Great for all ages.
Coachman Park & Capitol Theatre
Clearwater's waterfront park hosts concerts and community events year-round. The nearby Capitol Theatre is a beautifully restored historic venue for live music and performances. Both just minutes from the beach.
Golf Courses
Several courses within easy reach: Clearwater Country Club (7 min), Dunedin Golf Club — a classic Donald Ross design (12 min), and Tarpon Springs Golf Course with rolling fairways (22 min).
Spring Training Baseball

Getting Around
The Jolley Trolley stops right outside CBS and connects you to destinations across Clearwater and the Pinellas beaches — no car needed for the beach strip. For further afield, a car rental is recommended. Uber and Lyft operate throughout the area.
Best Time to Visit
Clearwater Beach enjoys sunshine year-round. Peak season (December–April) brings the best weather and biggest crowds. Summer is hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms but fewer tourists. Spring break (March) is the busiest week.
Beach Tips
Public tennis and basketball courts are right across the street from CBS. The beach is free and public. Bring reef-safe sunscreen. The sand stays warm well into the evening. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented on the sand.
Sunset at Pier 60
The Sunset at Pier 60 Celebration happens nightly, starting two hours before sunset. Street performers, artisans, and musicians create a festival atmosphere. Get there early during peak season for the best experience.
Airports
Tampa International Airport (TPA) is 30-35 minutes away and the most convenient. St. Pete-Clearwater International (PIE) is 20-25 minutes and serves budget airlines. Orlando (MCO) is 1.5 hours for international flights.
Dining Tips
Frenchy's Rockaway Grill is literally next door — perfect for a casual lunch. For special occasions, book Island Way Grill or Bern's Steak House in Tampa. Publix subs are a Florida institution — grab one at the nearby Island Estates location.
Fishing
No license needed for saltwater fishing from Pier 60. Deep sea charters depart from the marina daily — half-day trips are great for families. The intracoastal waterway behind CBS is excellent for kayak fishing.
Dolphins
Dolphins are frequently spotted right from the beach and especially from boat tours. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times. The intracoastal waterway near the marina is a regular feeding ground.
